Course Overview
The course will provide participants with an introduction to mobile hydraulic fundamentals, terminology, and common components (cylinders, motors, valves, pumps, routing, reservoirs, and filtration).
Learning Objectives:
- Identify component symbols and their functions in a hydraulic circuit.
- Understand and evaluate common failure modes for components in a hydraulic circuit
- Understand continuous and intermittent duty for Pump ratings
- Understand the selection of valve configurations for fixed and variable displacement pumps.
- Understand cooler sizing recommendations, filtration requirements and reservoir basic sizing.

Neil Skoog
Certified Fluid Power SpecialistNeil Skoog is a Certified Fluid Power Specialist providing training, design, service, and sales support with over 40 years of field experience in the Fluid Power Industry. Neil is a former Adjunct Professor at Edison State Community College, Piqua Ohio. He has served on the Board of Directors for the International Fluid Power Society. Neil has conducted numerous training courses throughout North and South America on a wide variety of topics and skill levels. He holds several US Patents for various hydraulic components, systems, and concepts.
