Scott Hauser

PE

Scott is the President of Matrix Engineering Consultants. He has over 18 years of mechanical engineering and project experience and is a registered professional engineer in Minnesota. Scott’s career started after graduating from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. His experience has involved the product development process throughout his career. It has branched into many specific disciplines utilizing this process: engine system development, hydraulic system layout, heavy & light structures design and validation, and systems integration. He leads the Matrix engineering team, manages projects, and develops customer relationships. Scott enjoys breaking down challenging projects into the essential tasks needed for success.

Jon Ness

PE, PMP, NPDP

Jon is a Managing Governor and Principal Engineer at Matrix Engineering and has over 34 years of experience in business and engineering team leadership. His career has been focused on the development of off-highway equipment and powertrains. He has unique technical expertise in designing and validating dynamically loaded bolted joints. In his consulting role, Jon has led numerous joint failure investigations, including re-design efforts to mitigate risks to the system owners. He actively participates in ongoing research projects and has taught many classes related to Failure Modes and Effects Analysis and Bolted Joint Design and Validation. He received a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from South Dakota State University. A licensed engineer in Minnesota, Jon is an active member of the UL2703 Standards Technical Panel, a contributor to the ASCE Manual of Practice for Solar PV Structures, and a Certified Fastener Specialist through the Fastener Training Institute.

Audra Mollet

PE

Audra is a Managing Governor for Matrix Engineering Consultants and an Engineering Manager at the Matrix sister company, RFA Engineering. She has over 26 years of mechanical engineering and design experience in developing mobile equipment components and systems for industries such as mining, agriculture, utility, railroad, military, and on and off-road equipment. She has expertise in dynamically loaded bolted-joint analysis, structural analysis, tolerance stacks, pin analysis, powertrain development, and gear design. Audra has taught numerous classes on bolted joint design to engineers, designers, and technicians. She also oversees a team of engineers and designers to meet customers’ engineering and analysis needs. She received a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and is a registered professional engineer in Minnesota.

Chuck Milton

Chuck is a Managing Governor for Matrix Engineering Consultants and is an Engineering Manager/Subject Matter Expert (SME) at the Matrix sister company, RFA Engineering. He has over 30 years of experience in design and analysis roles at McDonnell Douglas, Boeing, 3M, Donaldson, Tennant, EDS, Siemens, and Matrix Engineering. Chuck currently leads a team of analysts with responsibilities that include managing workflow and budgets, reviewing and approving reports for all projects, performing complex structural and CFD analyses, and performing structural testing. He is highly skilled with NX/Nastran, ANSYS, Acusolve, Fluent, and Hyperworks software and experienced in a wide range of analysis types, including static structural, transient/dynamic structural, CFD, heat transfer, vibration, modal, PSD, hyper-elastic materials, ballistic shock, fatigue, multi-physics, and advanced bolted joint analysis.

Bruce Birr

PE

As a Managing Governor for Matrix Engineering Consultants, Bruce has over 28 years of engineering and project management experience. His work has spanned many products and disciplines, from pneumatic conveying equipment, mining equipment, skid steer loaders, row crop planters, and railroad equipment to electrical routing, finite element analysis, structural design, public speaking, and leadership. He has led large engineering teams, served as Chief Financial Officer, and is currently Chief Information Officer for the Matrix sister company, RFA Engineering. Bruce received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from North Dakota State University, a Master’s in Business Administration from Regis University, and is a registered professional engineer in Minnesota.

Troy Witt

Troy is a Managing Governor for Matrix Engineering Consultants, a Board Member and Chief Financial Officer for The RFA Group, and an Engineering Director for the Matrix sister company, RFA Engineering. Troy is based out of the corporate office and directs internal and external simulation and design teams for multiple customers. Troy graduated from North Dakota State University with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. Throughout his 30-year career, he has worked on a wide range of product development projects. While working on engineering projects, Troy concentrated on CAD design and FEA/CFD simulation. Today, he focuses on business development, managing customer relationships, managing engineering teams, recruiting new employees, and overseeing the financial aspects of the corporation. With his extensive experience and leadership skills, Troy plays a critical role in the success of The RFA Group.
